Lavalier microphones

How to choose a lavalier microphone

• Check the connector, wiring and power required by your transmitter or recorder. The same connector size does not guarantee compatibility; a bare-wire version needs a correctly wired connector.
• Choose sensitivity and maximum sound pressure level for the voice or source. Check cable colour and length for the wardrobe and transmitter position.
• Plan the mounting: a visible clip or a concealed mount that fits the microphone. Wind protection and isolation from clothing rustle solve different problems.
