The Cinela COSI is a compact windshield with integrated suspension for short microphones, configurable for boom or camera use. Its 2017-patented principle attaches two external isolators directly to the cage: the cage can surround the microphone completely, while the wide isolator spacing combines firm support and vibration isolation within a small volume.

The microphone slides into a Holder that mounts and locks with a quarter-turn at the rear of the cage. Cinela offers five cage lengths and seven Holder references in different diameters; cables and Holders are fully removable and interchangeable so the configuration can be matched to the microphone.

Selection details:

• Cages are available with a fur or fabric finish
• The windproof cage material is fixed and cannot be removed
• Additional fur cannot be fitted over a fabric-finish cage
• Cage length, Holder diameter and cable must be selected for the particular microphone

Cinela notes that COSI provides less wind protection than a larger windshield, but more protection and handling-noise isolation than alternatives of comparable size.
