The Schoeps CMC 1 U is a miniature Colette microphone amplifier with an analogue XLR-3M output; it must be combined with an MK capsule to form a complete microphone. It is compatible with every MK capsule and Colette active accessory, allowing it to replace the CMC 6 where microphone size and weight matter.

The body is about one third the length of the CMC 6 and 53% lighter, while providing equal or better electrical performance. It operates from 12 V or 48 V phantom power and incorporates the Schoeps RFI Shield for high immunity to radio-frequency interference and induced hum.
